Grey Tourism Promoting Rock Climbing

By August 19, 2010February 25th, 2011No Comments

The Grey County tourism website www.visitgrey.ca is promoting rock climbing in Grey County on their site. Click READ MORE to learn why this is important.

Specifically mentioning Old Baldy and Metcalf Rock crags the site promotes local guiding services and of course the OAC. Check it out for yourself at http://www.visitgrey.ca/travel-experiences/outdoor-adventure/rock-climbing.

Having climbing promoted by third parties such as toursim organizations is a step in the right direction for helping to change perceptions of climbing and to help build revenue for the local area. Support of local businesses, tourism associations, and Chambers of Commerce can be very helpful when working with Land Manager’s to discuss the value that climbers bring and in the end can help climbers gain access to crags.
