BVCF 2025 Clinics

The Ontario Alliance of Climbers is excited to once again provide clinics at the Beaver Valley Climbing Festival in partnership with On the Rocks Climbing and Muskoka Mountainworks.  Both guiding companies have offered a 25% discount on all clinics for those registered for the festival.   Participants can sign-up directly on the respective guide’s website.  Check back here for updates on clinic availability or reach out directly to On the Rocks Climbing or Muskoka Mountainworks for an up to the minute status!  Note, pricing below includes the 25% discount that will be applied at the time of purchase.

Crack Climbing Clinic

Saturday AM: Introduction to crack climbing tricks and techniques. No prerequisites, previous climbing experience helpful.

Anchor Building Review

Saturday AM: Build confidence in your top-rope anchors and knotwork, and dust off those skills. This half-day session is for climbers who learned anchor building in the past, but want a bit of review and coaching before heading out on their own. This clinic will not include rock climbing, to maximize anchor building time!

Rappelling

Saturday PM: This half-day course introduces the basics of rappelling technique, including crag safety techniques, cliff-top considerations, and rappelling on one or two strands. Course does not include anchor building.

Self Rescue

Saturday PM: Time to challenge yourself on real rock! This session is a great opportunity for accomplished gym climbers with limited outdoor experience to try hard on some spicy outdoor climbs. Your guide will choose a selection of varied and interesting routes to work on, but be prepared to leave some chalk and sweat on the rocks! Climbers should ideally top-rope about 5.11 indoors.

Intro to Sport Climbing

Saturday Full Day: Comprehensive introduction to outdoor sport lead climbing. Climbers should belay, and climb around 5.9 on top-rope. Padded harness required.
